During every Olympic Opening Ceremony, all the athletes from all around the world take the athlete's oath(pledge):
“IN THE NAME OF ALL COMPETITORS, I PROMISE THAT WE WILL TAKE PART IN THESE OLYMPIC GAMES, RESPECTING AND ABIDING BY THE RULES WHICH GOVERN THEM, IN THE TRUE SPIRIT OF SPORTSMANSHIP, COMMITTING OURSELVES TO A SPORT WITHOUT DOPING AND WITHOUT DRUGS, FOR THE GLORY OF SPORT AND THE HONOUR OF OUR TEAMS.”
Today, the class came together to compose their very own pledge and we had a mini-opening ceremony where Cher Leong and Farah were the torch bearers and Reuben read out the pledge.
Primary 4-2's Olympic Pledge:
Primary 4-2 will promise to:
1)Respect others
2)Be safe
3)Respect the rules
4)Be honest
5)Befriend others
6)Do my best
The different country groups lead by their flag-bearers placed their fists over their hearts and read the pledge with gusto. Making their personal promises and commitments for the up-coming Olympic Games!
Well done!
